A product can be durable yet inconvenient, refillable yet difficult to clean, or recyclable only through a service you cannot access. We keep those limitations in view. Good household advice should acknowledge space, money, time, disability, care responsibilities and local infrastructure rather than assume every reader has the same options.
How we frame a recommendation
Our guidance is about product types and decision criteria, not ranked shopping lists. We ask what recurring waste a change addresses, whether an existing item can do the job, what care is required and what happens when a component fails. We distinguish waste prevention from broader environmental claims: fewer discarded items do not automatically establish a lower total environmental impact.
